i stopped s1 around ep 10 coz instead of fighting aliens they were quarelling between humans politic crap.. episode 1 so entertaining and then the rest of eps lame..

I think AoT was influenced by this series if I remembered what it stated on Wikipedia. The main story for this series, was it ever finished in manga form I wondered.

its better than what it seems, just sadly poor adaption of a boring part anyway for the first season.

I stayed because of the opening where takeru is reaching in the sky trying to catch that sun/moon in the sky and the starring from this at the first opening ugh that is so good

Actually I kinda know that there's a second season because I think it was confirmed after finishing season 1 and yeah I remember it got boring at the last episode of season 1 I remember takeru giving a thing to that girl she cried then takeru is walking seriously like he did a good job it's hilarious you should watch it

yes the serie could be surprising for this developpement, but its logic siocne originally it was a successfull video game 1st in sale in 2003 a visual novel, with girl route you know, so in anime the alien invasion anime turn quickly to the girly side.
but the most disturbing thing with muv luv are different time line and parallel world.

Glad they made the decision to showcase the graduation ceremony, every good dose of character interaction between the main cast is crucial for this adaptation, noticed the rendition of one of the VN's sountracks during the CO's speech, a very nice touch.

Jam project + Minami Kuribayashi for the opening is an absolute blessing and i wonder if we'll have a cover from any of the songs they composed for the VN later on, looking forward for next episode!

Literally had to go back to see what I said 9 months ago in the last episode of the previous season to jog my memory. Looks as though it wasn't needed as that arc concluded, but some things were acknowledged. And the biggest surprise was the return of Mikoto, who was under arrest for her actions during the attempted coup and capturing of the Emperor.

They are commenters who are well versed in the series and don't be afraid to ask questions from them as this series has so many paths, Google maps would be hard pressed to figure out which direction to go, Lol!!! But if anything them graduating, and seeing the ED credits very peaceful nature.

Hides the fact that this series is gonna get brutal before the end and really curious if they will complete the story in this season.

Sadly it doesn't have the bopping opening of season 1 but it's still as good as ever and the ending is pretty good

Schwarzesmarken would lead to Duty Lost Arcadia/The Euro Front, and Total Eclipse season 2 would be after this anime saga. Total Eclipse 2nd half of the story that was not in anime adapted yet coincide with this anime timeframe.

Agree, Total Eclipse has been the best Muv-Luv anime so far.

I normally would have said that I'm hyped for this season, but considering how not that great the first season was... yeah... I'm mostly here because I love Muv-Luv and seeing the most important parts of the visual novel finally animated is great, I guess I'll enjoy the ride without too many expectations.

I lied, there's one big expectation tho... and that is CHOMP, I really wonder how this anime will adapt such scene... will it be censored? Will it be changed in any way? Will it be raw and uncensored just like in the VN? I'm guessing CHOMP will happen in the next episode or probably in two episodes, so I guess I can be a bit hyped for that.

If only they have a banger opening just like season 1 but looks like we got an ecchi at the start I'm cool with it

More than just CHOMP, I want to see how far the animators are willing to extend the suffering throughout the ptsd arc with the wholeSeen Eating With Another Manmindbreak moment and other causality information leaking into the Extraverse. It sucks that none of this will hit quite as hard because this adaptation lacks any of the experiences people should have had from playing Muv-Luv Extra first.

Depends, this second season will give much more focus to the war against the Beta compared to the previous one, there won't be mecha vs mecha outside of mock battles this time and it'll be more action packed and if adapted right much more emotional. The pacing in this first episode was pretty good but i can't say they won't speedup through the story to reach the action later on though.
If you want to see more battles like in the first episode of last season i think it's worth watching

last one was happy student arc, the 1st anime was much better.

Even though I know this second season is still going to be a poor adaptation of the visual novel, I'm still looking forward to seeing it animated. It's a shame that the anime-onlies will never be able to appreciate the story due to the lack of context from adapting the third game of a trilogy, but that's just all the more reason to get those people to play Muv-Luv Extra, Unlimited, and Alternative, instead of settling for such a mediocre adaptation.

I'm most looking forward to seeing the Valkyries finally coming into center stage and becoming part of the main cast. They got very little screentime in the opening and ending but I hope the adaptation gives them the respect they deserve. Unfortunately, most anime-onlies won't even recognize the characters from Kimi ga Nozomu Eien/Rumbling Hearts and Akane Maniax because this adaptation nerfed all the character designs and changed everyone's voice actors. Mitsuki looks like a totally different person, but hopefully Haruka and Akane can be barely recognizable.

V.W.P/Virtual Witch Phenomenon, the vtuber group that performed this season's ED and last season's OP, also released an acoustic version of the last season OP yesterday on their Youtube channel. It's a musical delight for those who are into that sort of thing. I just thought I'd share that info here since it was obviously a planned release to help promote this anime.
